Snow comes early to Vermont!

The tarps were taken off both of the PRC boathouses today.
We were worried that if we get heavy snow, it would collapse the roof, as has happened in the past.

Many thanks to Graeme, Oliver, Kendall, Peter C., Jim and Patty to make this happen.

Please remove your boat or take precautions as needed as soon as possible.
Please be advised that all boats left in the boathouses have no tarps over their heads.

Next Sunday, November 6, at 9:00 am., weather permitting, we will be pulling the docks!
Winter and snow have arrived early this year.
From flooding, to tropical storms, to earthquakes, to early snow . . . it has been quite a season of varying weather!

Photos of the Putney School Rowing Team

Our season is almost ending on the water.  Fifteen student rowers have made fine progress on the water this fall.  We head off to the Head of the Fish regatta this coming weekend where we will have six boats competing.  It's been a challenging season on the water, but the students bring wonderful energy and joy to even these cold days on the river.  We are looking forward to our row to Brattleboro next week.  I'll send information out to the club on the day and time of our row in case other folks would like to join us.

I hope you're able to get out for some great last rows to end the season.   Take a peek at these photos from the Putney School website.

Annual Connecticut River Clean-Up

On October 1, the Education  Committee led the club’s annual clean-up around the boat house, parking area and landing. Five PRC members participated, and three bags of trash were collected and disposed of.
A form will be filled out and sent to the Connecticut River Watershed Council, and PRC will be noted as having participated in the 2011 Source-to-Sea Clean-up.

Respectfully submitted,
